Toyota Gazoo Racing has announced that the FIA WEC remains a priority for the forthcoming season with the Japanese constructor fielding two Toyota TS050 Hybrids in LMP1, the top class of the competition, in all WEC races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team has been a WEC competitor since the championship was founded in 2012. The driver line-up will be announced at a later date.
The 2019-2020 FIA WEC season comprises eight rounds, starting in style with the 4 Hours of Silverstone on 1st September and finishing with a flourish at the 88th annual 24 Hours of Le Mans on 13-14 June 2020.
Winner of the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours with drivers Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso, Toyota Gazoo Racing currently leads the world championship.
