When the light turned green at 09:00, the LM GTE Am #55 Ferrari 488 of Spirit of Race was first on track. It didn’t take long for Sébastien Buemi (#8 Toyota) to set the first lap time, with 3:33.636. Stéphane Sarrazin in the #7 Toyota soon bettered that, on 3:23.576. The first Porsche (#1) was 0.688 seconds behind.
In LM P2, Matthew Rao (#36 Alpine) was the first to top the timesheets with 3:39.223. Just 35 minutes later, Alexander Lynn in the #26 shattered that. With 3.33.594, the Briton broke the LM P2 track record held by Jos Verstappen in the Porsche RS Spyder of Van Merksteijn Motorsport. An hour later, Mathias Beche (#13 Oreca) edged close to 3:30.00, with 3:30.516. The #25 Oreca was not far behind on 3:30.786.
In LM GTE Pro, Jan Magnussen in the #63 was fastest on 3:56.876 ahead of Michael Christensen in the #92 Porsche 911 SRS and Patrick Pilet in the #91 sister car, on 3:57.851.
Aston Martin (#98 and #99) took the upper hand in LM GT Am.
For the moment, the #9 Toyota has clocked the most laps. The TS050-Hybrid driven by Nicolas Lapierre, Yuji Kunimoto and José Maria López has clocked 28 laps and covered 381.612 kilometres.
