After Road Atlanta, Ben Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Ricky Taylor hit the NOLA Motorsports Park track for a new testing session with Keating Motorsports' Riley Mk. 30 set to take the start at the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class.
Ben Keating, the largest Viper dealer in the U.S., enjoyed the 24 Hours of Le Mans so much when he attended for the first time back in 2015 that he now comes back every year. After a retirement that first year for a Viper GTS-R, developed with the help of Riley Technologies entered in the LMGTE Am class, the Texan then moved to LMP2 in the wake of an agreement with Murphy Prototypes.
Having finished 15th in the LMP2 class, Ben Keating will attempt to improve upon that result with the Riley Mk. 30, the design fruit of a partnership between Riley Technologies and Multimatic, one of the four constructors approved to build the new LMP2 chassis since the implementation of the new technical regulations on January 1st.
As it will be the first appearance of the Riley Mk. 30 at Le Mans, the Keating Motorsports team has conducted back-to-back testing sessions ever since Road Atlanta which hosts Petit Le Mans. This week, the three drivers set to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans have been racking up laps at the NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana) Motorsports Park located near the city in a suburb.
Ben Keating has been joined in Louisiana by Jeroen Bleekemolen with whom he won in the GTD class at the 12 Hours of Sebring and at the last round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, and by Ricky Taylor who will be taking the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the fourth time, but only the second time in LMP2 after 2014 (ninth in the LMP2 class with Larbre Compétition's Morgan).
