Two Ford GTs were fielded by Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK (the #66 and #67) and two by Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA (the #68 and #69), with best result for the #68 driven by the same driver line-up winner two years ago: Sébastien Bourdais, Joey Hand and Dirk Müller. The trio finished third in LMGTE Pro, offering the American manufacturer yet another podium finish in the bargain. The face off between Le Mans native Sébastien Bourdais and Fred Makowiecki (#91 Porsche 911 RSR, second) on Sunday morning was a highlight of the race!
The #66 driven by Bill Johnson, Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla finished sixth, delayed as a result of contact with an LMP2 (broken suspension). The #66 Ford had clocked the fastest time at qualifying. The #67 shared by Harry Tincknell, Andy Priaulx and Tony Kanaan finished fourth, but an 11-lap penalty for failure to respect the minimum driving time (Tony Kanaan) relegated the car to 12th place in the class. The #69 driven by Ryan Briscoe, Scott Dixon and Richard Westbrook was handicapped by a gearbox problem as well as incorrect driving time (Scott Dixon), crossing the finish line in 14th place.
