The drivers of the LM P1 class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship have a computer in their hands. They operate 24 buttons and switches as well as six paddles. 

The entry list for the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans (11-15 June 2025) has been revealed. Here are a few key figures.

<h2>62</h2>

Once again, there&rsquo;ll be a full grid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with 62 cars set to do battle on track on 14-15 June. The field comprises 21&nbsp;Hypercars, 17 LMP2 prototypes, and 24 LMGT3s. Six teams make up the reserve list.

<h2>13</h2>

The number of big-name manufacturers competing in the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Hypercar class features Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota, who will be fighting for the overall win.

This year is the second time out at Le Mans for the LMGT3 class, which brings together Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, Mercedes-AMG, McLaren and Porsche

Although the list of 186 drivers is yet to be completed, we now know that 16 of them have already won the race outright:

There will be at least five women on the grid at this year&rsquo;s 24 Hours of Le Mans.&nbsp; The Iron Dames #85 Porsche&nbsp;911 GT3 R&nbsp;LMGT3 will be driven by an all-female crew featuring C&eacute;lia Martin, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting. British driver Jamie Chadwick will be in the IDEC #75 Sport Oreca&nbsp;07-Gibson. Lilou Wadoux, a Ferrari works driver, will be at the wheel of the Richard Mille AF Corse #150 Ferrari&nbsp;296 LMGT3, sharing driving duties with Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini.

<h2>41</h2>

The number of cars shod with Goodyear tyres. They are found in the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes. All the entrants in Hypercar are equipped with Michelin tyres.

The eight manufacturers entered in this year&rsquo;s Hypercar class have together won 41 of the 92 races run since the creation of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923.&nbsp; Porsche has scored the most victories with a total of 19, ahead of Ferrari (11), Toyota (five), Peugeot (three), Aston Martin (one), BMW (one) and Alpine (one).

<h2>9</h2>

In the LMP2 class, five cars will be driven by a mix of professional and amateur racers. The teams having opted for this configuration are: Proton Competition (Oreca #11), RLR M Sport (Oreca #16), United Autosports (Oreca #23), Oreca #24 (Nielsen Racing), TDS Racing (Oreca #29), Inter Europol Competition (Oreca #34 and #43), Algrave Pro Racing (Oreca #45) and AF Corse (Oreca #155).

<h2>12</h2>

The teams represent 12 different nationalities in all. The nations with the largest contingent are Germany and France with 12 teams each. Then comes Italy with ten teams, followed by Great Britain with 9 and the USA with 8.

2025 24 Hours of Le Mans: the Entry List in numbers

All 36 cars running the full FIA World Endurance Championship season are automatically invited to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Another 26 cars make up the grid for the 93rd running of the famous race. And what a grid it is!

The grandstands are already fully booked for the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 14 June, round 4 of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Spectators have the entertainment billing, and now it&rsquo;s time to announce the entrants. 
 
Like the grandstands, the grid is at full capacity, with sixty-two cars: 21 Hypercars, 17&nbsp;LMP2s and 24&nbsp;LMGT3s. There are six teams on the reserve list.&nbsp;The provisional driver line-up includes 16 former outright winners (15 in Hypercar, one in LMGT3) and five women

<h2>Hypercar</h2>

Eight constructors make up the top class:&nbsp;Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari,&nbsp;Peugeot, Porsche,&nbsp;Toyota&nbsp;&ndash;&nbsp;and Aston Martin, back in the premier league this year. 
Last year&rsquo;s winners Ferrari, who can boast 11 Le Mans victories, are already gearing up to face some stiff competition from their classmates aiming to bar the Italian constructor&rsquo;s way to a third triumph in a row. 
Toyota will be looking to find the path to the top step again, while Cadillac, Alpine, BMW and Peugeot are sure to want to cash in on the experience they have banked since last season. Meanwhile, Porsche is on a mission to keep its status as the make with the most Le Mans wins ever. 
Back in the race&nbsp; for the outright win, Aston Martin &shy;sees the Valkyrie&rsquo;s V12 as the cat among the pigeons.&nbsp;

<h2>LMP2</h2>

In LMP2, there will be 17 cars at the start, including nine pro-am driver crews. The class crown promises to be as hotly disputed as ever. Experience in the European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series could prove vital, as these prototypes no longer take part in the World Endurance Championship.&nbsp;

<h2>LMGT3</h2>

This new class replaces the LMGTE category. The 24 GTs fielded by nine makes are bound to thrill spectators. Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Porsche and Mercedes-AMG line up side by side. 
The all-women Iron Dames team is among the favourites to win the class this year. Among their opponents is motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi. The nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing world champion is to take the wheel of the TEAM WRT BMW M4 LMGT3.&nbsp;

24 Hours of Le Mans : 62 cars fielded by 13 constructors

The opening round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship saw Ferrari scoop the honours with a historic 1-2-3. The #50 Ferrari 499P of Ferrari AF Corse won the Qatar 1812km while Corvette claimed victory in the LMGT3 class.

The #50 Ferrari 499P driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen led home AF Corse&rsquo;s privately entered #83 499P and the #51 factory car that started the race in pole position. This is the first time that a manufacturer has locked out the FIA WEC podium since Hypercar was introduced.

In the LMGT3 class, Ben Keating, Jonny Edgar and Daniel Juncadella brought home the #33 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R, fielded by TF Sport, in first place. In the final laps, Juncadella had to call on his wealth of experience to hold off the challenge from United Autosports&rsquo; Swiss driver Gr&eacute;goire Saucy in the #59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo.

FIA WEC – Historic 1-2-3 for Ferrari at Qatar 1812km

Ferrari is off to a flying start! Antonio Giovinazzi put the #51 Ferrari 499P in pole position at the end of a breathtaking Hyperpole ahead of the Qatar 1812km, the season’s opening race. Let’s look back on a hotly contested session, clinched with a last-gasp lap!

For the 2025 season, the FIA World Endurance Championship has introduced an improved qualifying system that sees the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes take part in two qualifying sessions each. Both classes have a 12-minute opening session followed by a 10-minute Hyperpole for the top 10 qualifiers that decides pole position for each class.

The season&rsquo;s first Hypercar Hyperpole kept all its promise, offering intense action through to the dying moments. After the first phase of qualifying, 10 cars secured a place in the final showdown that shut out the Porsche 963s of Porsche Penske Motorsport and the Aston Martin Valkyries of Aston Martin THOR Team. Porsche fans can however take comfort in the fact that, while the car has difficulty in finding single-lap pace, its performance on long stints inspres much greater confidence.

The drivers gradually stepped up the pace during the Hyperpole session. Dries Vanthoor was the first to catch the eye with a 1:38.495 lap in the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, placing the Bavarian manufacturer at the top of the charts ahead of the #51 Ferrari 499P and the #20 BMW. But the pack was reshuffled in the final minutes.

Alex Lynn briefly took up second place in the #12 Cadillac V-Series.R, before he was in turn knocked down by Antonio Fuoco in the #50 Ferrari. But it was fellow Ferrari AF Corse driver Giovinazzi who had the final word. The Italian snatched pole on the final lap in the #51 Ferrari in a time of 1:38.359, one-tenth faster than Vanthoor.

With this performance, Ferrari AF Corse takes the first pole position of the season and confirms its ambitions in the face of some stellar competition. The race promises to be an exciting battle, where endurance and strategy management will play key roles.

<h2>United Autosports and McLaren take the season&rsquo;s opening LMGT3 Hyperpole</h2>

The ten Hyperpole qualifiers were, in order, the #95 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo of United Autosports, the #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3 of Akkodis ASP Team, the #59 McLaren of United Autosport USA, the #87 Lexus of Akkodis ASP Team, the #21 Ferrari 296 LMGT3 of Vista AF Corse, the #46 BMW M4 LMGT3 of Team WRT, the #27 Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 of Heart Of Racing, the #54 Ferrari of Vista AF Corse, the #81 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R of TF Sport and the #88 Ford Mustang LMGT3 of Proton Competition.

United Autosports&rsquo; Sean Gelael, at the wheel of the #95 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo, was first to set the time to beat in 1:54.338. With less than two minutes left on the clock, Zacharie Robichon went on the attack in the #27 Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 fielded by Heart Of Racing, but the Canadian fell short. At the same moment, Akkodis ASP Team&rsquo;s Finn Gehrsitz spun in the #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3.

Gelael managed to hang on to his lead throughout the breathtaking session and clinch Hyperpole ahead of the #59 McLaren of United Autosports, driven by S&eacute;bastien Baud, just two-tenths of a second in arrears. Gehrsitz recovered from his error to take third place in the #78 Lexus, while the two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3s (#21 and #54) rounded out the top five.
