WEC - The 6 Hours of Silverstone poster unveiled

Like every year since the inception of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), with the exception of the first edition, the kickoff of the season will take place at Silverstone in the U.K. The poster of the race - which will take place Sunday, April 17th - has been released.

The list of competitors in the LM P1 class seems unchanged, but in appearance only since Toyota and Audi have developed entirely new cars for 2016. Other than the Prologue, official tests of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), Silverstone will be the first public appearance for the 2016 Audi R18 and 2016 Toyota TS050 Hybrid. The two manufacturers intend to step it up in the face of Porsche's unflinching domination, after its one-two at the 2015 24 Hours of Mans.

GT fans are looking forward to Ford's big official return to endurance. The American marque has indeed already competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with mixed results following techical problems so typical for new projects, but this will be the Ford GT's first European race. Between Ford and Ferrari (via AF Corse), bringing a new car, and Aston Martin and Porsche, winner of the GT Constructors Endurance Cup in 2015, entering a modified car in order to comply with new regulations in effect this year, the battle promises to be fierce.

Lastly, enthusiasts at Silverstone can also enjoy the first round of the European Le Mans Series, scheduled the day before (April 16th). With no less than 44 competitors on the track, the show is going to be stunning!
