For this second round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), Aston Martin achieved the one-two in the two LM GTE classes that Ferrari had prevented at Silverstone.
Richie Stanaway-Alex McDowall-Fernando Rees won Aston Martin's first 2015 win in LM GTE Pro, and Pedro Lamy-Paul dalla Lana-Mathias Lauda their second consecutive in LM GTE Am.
Fernando Rees (No. 99 Aston Martin Vantage, LM GTE Pro winner): "We knew the Ferrari was very fast. When Gianmaria Bruni caught up to me, I tried to get away and bring the car home."
Alex McDowall (No. 99 Aston Martin Vantage, LM GTE Pro winner): "The No. 51 Ferrari was really very strong in the last two stints. I tried to stay calm at the wheel."
Richie Stanaway (No. 99 Aston Martin Vantage, LM GTE Pro winner): "We analyzed what happened at Silverstone. We were successful in tweaking our strategy, and Ferrari made the mistake we had hoped for during the last refueling. It is a great feeling to win before going to Le Mans."
Paul dalla Lana (No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage, LM GTE Am winner): "It was a very strange race because everyone had different strategies."
Pedro Lamy (No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage, LM GTE Am winner): "I was unable to get away like I had hoped even though I was going no holds barred, it is very stressful. It was my teammates who made the difference by giving me a good gap that I maintained until the finish."
