Christian Ried, owner of the Dempsey-Proton Competition team, competing in his eighth 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, will be joined by two young newcomers. The first, Marvin Dienst, who turned 20 on February 24th, just finished a season in the ADAC Masters GT by way of the German Formula 4 Championship.
The second is Matteo Cairoli, one of the drivers recruited by Porsche. The Italian native, himself very young at 21, has done two seasons in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, races held as a curtain-raiser to Formula 1 Grand Prix. He finished second in the championship in 2016 behind Sven Muller, also an official Porsche driver, and has won four of its races (Spain, Monaco, Germany and Italy).
The first round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) will take place at Silverstone in the U.K. on April 16th.
