Wednesday's scrutineering and Thursday morning's driver and team manager briefings completed, the action on the track will begin at 12:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, May 5th for the first free practice of 90 minutes, then resume from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the second session. During that time, the race press conference and a 30-minute safety car exercise are scheduled.
After a night of rest, competitors will hit the track again on Friday, May 6th at 11:10 a.m. local time for a final one-hour free practice session to tweak as needed for the race. Fans will then have an hour to visit pit lane and enjoy the pit-walk at 12:30 p.m. before qualifying starts.
Given the length of the circuit (7.395 km), competitors will be given 25-minute qualifying sessions instead of the typical 20 minutes. On the other hand, there will be two sessions: one for the LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am classes, and another for the LM P1 and LM P2s. The GTs will go first at 4:05 p.m. before the prototypes at 4:40 p.m.
As soon as the polemen press conference is over, the drivers will take advantage of some well-deserved rest so as to take on the race under the best conditions. As there is no warm-up in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the drivers will start their day on Saturday, May 7th with a 30-minute autograph session at 10:45 a.m., and fans who were unable to do Friday's pit-walk will be able to make up for it on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
Then the drivers will prepare for the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race - the start of which will be given at 2:30 p.m. local time.
