On Tuesday the first "hypercar" conceived in the Middle East will be launched. Its name? The Lykan Hypersport. Its constructor? The hitherto completely unknown 'W Motors'.
Graduate of the Coventry university school of art and design, Ralph R Debbas is about to attack Bugatti and Koenigsegg market of elitie hypercars. To achieve this he has major partners such as Magna (OEM) and (RUF preparer). Today, his gamble is on the verge of success: W Motors, the brand he launched in July 2012, will be giving the Lykan Hypersport its 'premiere' next Tuesday at the Qatar Motor Show. The first deliveries are expected in 2013.
Before the launch, we already know that the car will be assembled in Dubai and will be produced in just 7 examples. These gems are priced at 2.55 million euros. The wealthy owners can marvel at the magnificent LED lights covered with diamonds, and touch the leather seats accented with gold seams! Less precious metal under the bonnet, but there is a flat-six engine that develops 750 hp offering breathtaking performance of about 2.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standing start. 400 km/h, as exceeded by the WM P88 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988, could be close!
