A car that raced four times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be offered for sale on Friday the 8th of February at the Artcurial Motorcars auction at Retromobile.
In four appearances at Le Mans (1937-38-39-49), the T150C never saw the chequered flag, but was driven in its first 24 hours by two great champions. Double winner in 1932 and 1934 with Alfa Romeo, in 1949 Luigi Chinetti scored the first victory for Ferrari at Le Mans. As for Louis Chiron, in 1929 he was one of the organizers of the first ever Monaco Grand Prix (he won two years later), and spearheaded Bugatti, with numerous victories in 1928 and 1929. Unfortunately, his nine participations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans resulted in many retirements. Video commentary in French.
The Talbot Lago T150C at this auction will be offered with his customary enthusiasm by Hervé Poulain, the auctioneer, who is also a lover of contemporary art and race driver. He finished sixth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979 driving a BMW M1 painted by Andy Warhol (1928 -1987), an exponent of the Pop Art movement, where he was one of the initiators in the United States.
