The characteristic throaty sound of the engine of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR will be heard in 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
This flat-six configuration has been used on the 911 since its introduction in 1963. First air-cooled using a fan, similar to the engine of the Volkswagen Beetle, then water cooled from 1998, in the sixteenth and latest victory for Porsche at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Giving 343hp at 7000 rpm, it will mounted in the factory entered 911 in La Sarthe this year by Team Manthey Porsche AG, whose mission will be to snatch victory from Ferrari in LM GTE Pro.
