After Sebring, Le Castellet and Le Mans, the Oreca 03 won another pole position in LM P2. Mathias Beche and TDS Racing dominated the qualification for 6 hours Imola, ahead of another Oreca 03, that of Boutsen Energy Racing.
After a convincing 24 Hours of Le Mans, the prototype developed in the workshops at Signes was quick to shine on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit. It dominated free practice, and even took to third place overall after the second session on Friday 1st July, which took place in the rain.
During qualifying, the Oreca 03 gave us a great duel. Mathias Beche (TDS Racing) quickly took control followed by Dominik Kraihamer (Boutsen Energy Racing), the Swiss driver took back his place, improving in quick succession to ensure the pole. Kraihamer set the second fastest lap, only .268 adrift. Behind this front line, Soheil Ayari and team Signatech-Nissan, leader in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, fourth. Race Performance will start from seventh position.
