Intercontinental Cup Le Mans - Petit Le Mans
Representing Porsche in the GT class overseas in the American Le Mans Series, Flying Lizard Motorsports have three cars in the second round of the ILMC.
In the leading 911 GT3 RSR (#45) will be the team's usual drivers Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long who will be joined by Marc Lieb, 5th in the GT2 class after the opening of ILMC at Silverstone in the Felbermayr-Proton Porsche. In the #44, will be Marco Holzer, second in LM GT2 in Britain in the Porsche ProSpeed Competition, who will be the third Porsche driver sent by Stuttgart, along with Seth Neiman and Darren Law.
The Flying Lizard Motorsports team will run the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid at Petit Le Mans, which will run ‘out of classification’ in the hands of Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Mike Rockenfeller, winners of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010.
"We're excited to be getting to Road Atlanta for the Petit Le Mans next week, and will be racing hard rather than conservatively. With Atlanta being the home for Porsche Cars North America, we always have a lot of friends and family at the track, so we're motivated to put on a good show for them.
"Road Atlanta is a very fast track," concluded Craig Watkins, the Chief Engineer of Flying Lizard. " the Porsches have to be set up to get the most out of the downhill runs. We'll run a high downforce setup, and will focus on maximizing tyrewear for potentially long stints - even if we have to trade off some handling."
