While Jaguar has won seven times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as many as five of the British manufacturer's victories were clinched between 1951 and 1957, including three consecutive wins between 1955 and 1957. The last year was a real triumph for Jaguar when the five Type D cars it entered finished...in the top six spots: only a Ferrari managed to slip into fifth place.
In celebration of this exploit, the Virage de Mulsanne association will host, at the corner bearing its name located at the end of the Mulsanne Straight, around 50 Jaguars, five of which will participate in the Drivers' Parade on June 16th at 9:00 a.m. Various stands, with one designated for a driver autograph session, will be set up and visitors will enjoy a parade of vintage cars, with music, in the town starting at 7:00 p.m.
At the presentation, to which about 10 Jaguars were invited, the association took the opportunity to unveil its new website viragedemulsanne.org. All the information you need to know about this fun, free event is available on the site.
