Having debuted in late 2002, Tracy Krohn has since driven Daytona Prototypes in the Grand Am Series, the American Le Mans Series (now merged into the Tudor United SportsCar Championship), the Interncontinental Le Mans Cup, the World Endurance Championship and of course the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In his own way, he has played a part in the rebirth of endurance, namely with the light green colour that makes his cars immediately recognizable.
After having debuted at Le Mans at the wheel of a Porsche 996 in 2006, Krohn turned loyal to Ferrari with three class podium finishes (second in 2007 and third in 2009 with the F430, third in 2012 with the 458 Italia). In 2015, he made the decision to go into the LM P2 class for a full season of the European Le Mans Series. In the first three rounds in 2015, his Ligier JS P2 has already made it to three top fives (fourth at Silverstone, fifth at Imola and at the Red Bull Ring) and holds the fourth spot in the team standings.
Will Krohn celebrate his birthday (he was born August 26, 1954) on the podium at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet? The answer on Sunday, September 6th at 5:00 p.m. local time. The next round of the World Endurance Championship will take place September 19th on the Texan's home turf: like A.J. Foyt, American motorsports icon and winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1967, Krohn's hometown is Houston.
