Winner in LM P2 at Le Mans in 2011, Tom Kimber-Smith joins the Starworks Motorsport Team USA for the 2012 24 Hours, where he replaces Stephane Sarrazin, who left to drive for Toyota.

Driving the Nissan-Zytek of Greaves Motorsport  the British driver had an outstanding 2011 season which earned him not only the LM P2 victory in La Sarthe, but also the class title in the Le Mans Series, even beating even some competitors of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

With team-mates Lucas Ordonez and Alex Brundle in the European Le Mans Series in 2012, he remains faithful to the British team ... except the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he gave way to Martin Brundle, Alex's father. Tom will still be at Le Mans though, driving the Honda HPD ARX-03b of Starworks Motorsport (#44). At the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship the American team had caused a huge surprise at the 12 Hours of Sebring, winning both the third place overall and victory in LM P2 for its first appearance at this level. Like the French driver Stephane Sarrazin, whom he replaces, Tom Kimber-Smith is a recruit of Starworks Motorsport and joins his two team-mates Ryan Dalziel and Enzo Potolicchio. He has two class wins at Le Mans: GT1 in 2005 (Panoz Esperante with Richard Dean and Lawrence Tomlinson, fifteenth overall) in 2011 and in LM P2 (Zytek Nissan Z11SN with Karim Ojjeh and Olivier Lombard, eighth overall).
