After an impressive fourth place for Stephane Sarrazin in the Monte Carlo Rally, two Audi drivers will also compete in rally this year.
The victory by Bryan Bouffier and Xavier Panseri (Peugeot 207 Super 2000) at Monte Carlo is a reminder that ten years ago, Peugeot was on top of the WRC with Marcus Gronholm in a 206. A triumph, with not less than six 207 in the top ten, thanks to Guy Wilks (3rd) and Stéphane Sarrazin (4th).
In the wake of the legendary 'monty', two of the three winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 announced their intention to race in this discipline in 2011. Romain Dumas will race in France in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS GT Class Plus with Guilhem Zazurca: "The rally is a great pleasure and a perfect balance with my activities on track. I have already won eleven class victories and six overall, and we will be more competitive with the new 911." Timo Bernhard also takes the wheel in the German championship in a new team run by his father and named Rally Team 75: "it is obvious that my circuit programme is a priority, but we were able developing a private project fantastic rally, with the invaluable support of the Porsche Center Mannheim, which belongs to Roger Penske, my former boss." In 2008, together with Emmanuel Collard, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas won the 12 Hours of Sebring driving a Porsche RS Spyder prototype run by Roger Penske.
