The qualifying session for the Group C cars started at 1600 hrs and lasted for one hour.
31 cars are entered into this support race for the 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and they evoke the fantastic sights and sounds of a past era of sports prototype racing.
The group C cars (from 1982 to 1991) went through their scrutineering this morning, and have completed their timed session. They are on track to battle for the pole position in Saturday's support race (starting at 10.05 hrs).
The field includes in C1 historic cars such as the XJR16 Jaguar, the Porsche 956/962, Sauber Mercedes C9, Lancia LC2 and famous drivers like Derek Bell (winner in 1975,1981,1982,1986 and 1987) driving a Kenwood Porsche 962.
In C2 there are Spice SE88s, an Argo, Tigas and a Jaguar XJR5.
