After winning the LMP2 class last year, Signatech Alpine Matmut had high hopes for the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team was also leading the FIA Endurance LMP2 Teams Trophy by only four points on Jackie Chan DC Racing. The #36 Alpine A470-Gibson qualified in 11th position with a time of 3:25.874 clocked by Nicolas Lapierre during the third session. In the race, the battle raged with G-Drive Racing's #26 Aurus 01-Gibson. Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão and Pierre Thiriet kept up their qualifying pace for 24 hours, finishing sixth overall and winning the LMP2 class for the third time. And, the result delivered Philippe Sinault's team the FIA Endurance LMP2 Teams Trophy.
