The 1966 Ford GT 40's incredible story at Le Mans (video) - Part 3

The RK Motors company based in Charlotte, North Carolina bought the Ford GT 40, #P1046 chassis, that won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 to restore it and present it at Monterey Car Week in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the American manufacturer's first win at the 24 Hours.

In the 1960s, Henry Ford decided to challenge Ferrari, whose owner, Enzo, had refused the American marque's offer to buy out his company. Great financial backing (three million dollars in three years), but also and especially technological advances were employed to reach a first win.
