Forty years after the release of the movie "Le Mans" it is still making news. After the HD restoration of the movie comes the sale of one of it's stars.
Seen at the Place des Jacobins (in the centre of Le Mans) and circuit, the 1970 911S appears in the opening scenes of the Paramount movie. In addition to this film appearance, the car belonged personally to the "King of Cool" Steve McQueen. No wonder that the model estimated at €25,000 without Hollywood connection went for €865,000 despite its odometer showing more than 180,000 km!
For the record, it was the 200th vehicle sold for over one million dollars ($ 1,250,000) by RM Auctions.
