Romain Dumas is aiming high this summer

In the next few months, the driver of #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid will be taking the wheel in three iconic races: the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pikes Peak and Le Mans Classic.

Romain Dumas’ motto could be ‘the more you race, the better you get’!  This coming weekend, the Frenchman will be at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the USA for Pikes Peak ten days later and then back to France for Le Mans Classic from 8-10 July.

Pikes Peak is an annual hill-climb race staged in the mountains of Colorado. Dumas won the popular event in 2014 with a Norma M20 RD Limited. At Le Mans Classic the Frenchman will be driving a Group C Porsche 962.

"I won’t be approaching these races with the same state of mind. It works out well as the three races are in order of importance. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is still my absolute number one priority. At Pikes Peak, if we get to the top, we have a really good chance of clinching it because we’ve got a crazy good car. Le Mans Classic is for fun. There’s no pressure."

Dumas also thinks the Le Mans trophy is within his grasp: "I think we’re in with a chance. We’re well prepared. We’ve switched back to the same hybrid system as last year as we know it’s reliable. We’re aiming for zero glitches”, he says.
