Who has not wondered what would a race car look like, free of any regulatory constraint? Part of the answer might be right here...

At the request of the developers of Gran Turismo 5, Adrian Newey has risen to the challenge of designing an extreme car. The result is called X1, a vehicle using the style cues of modern LMP designs like the Peugeot 908 or the Audi R15. The technical director of Red Bull has certainly drawn some of his inspiration by observing the prototypes he had rubbed shoulders with during his participation at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007 (Ferrari F430, 4th in GT2).

The Red Bull X1 has emerged as a full-scale model that will be exhibited at various events. But to drive the "Playstation Chicane" on the 'Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans', it is to the virtual world one must go.
