With six entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a long endurance racing career Nicolas Prost is used to dealing with team mates, but this time, his team mate will be a bit special because it will be his father Alain, quadruple World Champion of Formula 1. They will compete in the Gstaad Classic rally for historic cars driving a Alpine A110 Berlinetta. Alain is brand ambassador for Renault, who returned to Le Mans in LM P2 last June.
The Alpine crossed the finish line at Le Mans in its the first race and sparked public enthusiasm upon his arrival at scrutineering. Bur it was not in the seat of the Alpine that Nicolas Prost, development driver of the Lotus F1 Team development, raced the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but in the Rebellion Racing Lola-Toyota. Although the French driver took the chequered flag in June, but technical problems put the car far back from the leaders, however it did not prevent him from scoring points as the second placed private team in LM P1.
