The Ferrari of Krohn Racing that experienced an accident last night is not repairable… but the team have not given up hope of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans !

Last night, Tracy Krohn suffered a spectacular crash in the downhill section between the Dunlop bridge and the forest esses. Although the American driver was unscathed, his lime green Ferrari can not be repaired for the race. One solution: is find another chassis and get a special dispensation to run it. This is the goal that Krohn Racing mechanics have been set, whoare in possession of a Ferrari 458 Italia shipped to Mans by Black Team This car is usually run in International GT Open with the number 27.

Krohn Racing mechanics are busy right now to put the car into ACO configuration, after which they will seek the approval of scrutineers. The changes to be made concern including air intake flanges, headlights (yellow in Le Mans GTE), and the seat. Also, the doors must be drilled to accommodate the lights indicating the position of the cars in the top three in the class. The American team hopes to be able to run the car tonight, Niclas Jönsson and Maurizio Mediani need to do their mandatory five laps of night running.
