The 24 Hours of Le Mans has been in existence for 90 years. This year, with the ninth win in his career, Tom Kristensen also clinched Audi's twelfth victory, which was also the 22nd time the Clermont-based tyre maker has won at La Sarthe. But here more than elsewhere, the strategy is at the heart of their campaign. A simple decision can make you win or lose the race. Everything is calculated, carefully scrutinised, and nothing is left to chance. As soon as the chequered flag is waved, Michelin's tyres are already being prepared for the next edition. No time to lose, winning is the goal in the end.
This Michelin video features the Clermont company's engineers, and the Audi and Porsche teams which together made the decisions that ultimately took their cars to the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013.
