What did the Tests teach you?
Marc Goossens:" It's hard to say because the track was very wet. We therefore did not seek the limits of performance of the car and we did not take any risks. Everything we had planned to work on during the day was done and we are happy with the result. Everything worked!"
You had a good race at the 12 Hours of Sebring. What changes have you made to the car since then?
"From Sebring, we changed a lot of things, and here at Le Mans, we have a special aerodynamic configuration! Apart from that, we continue to work on reliability and develop the car at every outing!"
The presence of Viper - is it for the long term?
"We all signed up for three years so to the end of 2014! After that, we'll see, we are not currently in that phase of negotiations! But in my opinion, the team will go on!"
Do you feel pressure because of the Viper brand, which has been very successful in the past?
"Viper have had a lot of very good results here at Le Mans. Already in the United States, with the brand back on track and on the road, it has made a lot of fans really happy. In the U.S., the Viper brand is a legend but the Corvette is very popular as well! We feel we're being followed by a lot of fans and it's great!"
What is the aim of your first drive in the Viper GTS-R?
"The goal is always to win the race (smiles!). We have to see how far we can go. We showed competitiveness and speed with the car at Sebring. We hope to get a good result but we must always respect the race. It will depend on weather conditions. We have not been to many tests but we are always working on something!"
We have just learned that the Balance Of Performance has been changed. You do not lose any weight and do not gain an extra 5 liters in capacity of your tank? Do you think this will change things?
"I think it will not change much for us! But we will see during testing on Wednesday and Thursday. I think it will change things for others gaining weight. We'll see on Thursday night where we are!"
