For 2016, the Oreca 03R-Nissan was replaced by the Oreca 05-Nissan with drivers Pu Jun Jin, Nick De Bruijn and Tristan Gommendy. The Asian outfit had a good season, finishing fifth in the ELMS Teams Championship with best race result a second place at Red Bull Ring. Gommendy’s Le Mans experience proved valuable and the team finished fifth in LM P2, the best result for an ELMS team. Eurasia (as Wineurasia) fielded a Ligier JS P3 for Road to Le Mans, the support race before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with William Lok at the wheel (19th in the race).

During the winter, Mark Goddard’s team provided support for Jackie Chan’s DC Racing Asian Le Mans Series campaign with Gustavo Menezes, Ho-Pin Tung and Thomas Laurent in the Oreca 03R - Nissan and David Cheng, James Winslow and Hiroki Yoshida in the Ligier JS P3 – Nissan. The team also entered a Ligier JS P3 under the Wineurasia name, with Lok, Scott Andrews and Aidan Read (and Richard Bradley in the first round). The LM P2 and LM P3 crews finished second and third respectively in the Teams Championship while the Ligier JS P3 was classed sixth on 29 points.

Eurasia Motorsport intended to field an Oreca 07 – Gibson in the FIA World Endurance Championship but the Asian team had to revise its plans when Kevin Pu Ju Jin pulled out. The team will content itself with racing the the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, with a Ligier JS P217 – Gibson. Father and son Jacques and Pierre Nicolet will be teamed with Erik Maris. This will be Pierre’s first time at Le Mans but his father – owner of Onroak Automotive, which builds the Ligier -  has taken part eight times, the last time in 2015.
