RECARO Automotive, the premium seat manufacturer, celebrated its 60th anniversary in France, where it paid tribute to another milestone in the world of motorsports: the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. RECARO and Le Mans’ histories have been intertwined through the decades, as countless entrants in the iconic endurance contest have competed in RECARO seats.
As a fitting tribute to the race on its 100th anniversary, Recaro Automotive introduced its latest in seating technology with the production of a limited-edition 24H Le Mans version of the new Recaro Podium GF performance shell – an official licensed product of 24H Le Mans. This partnership was brokered by Le Mans’ exclusive licensing agency IMG.
The Podium GF is a state-of-the-art, street-legal, FIA approved, glass-fiber shell offered with two degrees of padding — 20mm thick pads in size M (for medium-build drivers) and 10mm in the variant L: designed for taller people.
The Recaro Podium GF 24H Le Mans features blue leather, black microfiber, and white stitching, with the 24H Le Mans logo on the seat padding and backrest. It will be available this summer.
While the Recaro Podium GF 24H Le Mans will undoubtedly enhance the driving experience for its lucky owners, sim racers are also afforded the opportunity to get in on the celebration. The Recaro SIM Pro Star will also be offered in a limited-edition 24H Le Mans trim featuring blue leather accents, black cushioning, and the 24H Le Mans insignia on both the padded backrest and outer shell. It will be available this summer.
Fans attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans had the chance to visit the Recaro booth in the Village, where the Recaro Podium GF 24H Le Mans was introduced by two-time 24H Le Mans winners Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard and was on display for the duration of the race week.
