Fifty-three years after the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, that running of the race is back in the headlines. American director James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) has immortalised the extraordinary duel between Ford and Ferrari in the film Le Mans 66 (Ford v Ferrari in the U.S.). Matt Damon and Christian Bale play legendary driver/engineer Carroll Shelby and British driver Ken Miles, respectively.
Extremely well-received at its screening two weeks ago at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, "Le Mans 66" will hit theaters in the U.K. on 15 November. To learn more about the movie before its release, including behind-the-scenes details from the director and actors, don't miss the press conference scheduled tomorrow Tuesday 10 September at 9:45 local time at the Toronto International Film Festival.
