Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Picture are the four categories in which "Le Mans 66" ("Ford v Ferrari") has been nominated at the 2020 Academy Awards to be held on 9 February. James Mangold's film starring Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles has been regularly cited for various international film awards, like the recent Golden Globes and the BAFTAs on 2 February. Mentioned by Barack Obama as one of his favorite movies of 2019 (photo below), "Le Mans 66" ("Ford v Ferrari") surpassed 200 million dollars at the box office at the end of December.

The box office in France exceeded 100 million movie-goers in December, including 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Jean-Claude Lagniez (in the GT2 class at the wheel of a Porsche 911 fielded by Elf Haberthur Racing with Michel Neugarten and Guy Martinolle) and professional stuntman with his company Cinécascade, the recipient of the 2003 World Stunt Award for "The Bourne Identity" with Matt Damon. It was actually with Damon and Christian Bale that Lagniez saw "Le Mans 66" ("Ford v Ferrari") at the Paris premiere. "It's a beautiful film, well-edited with stunning shots and excellent sound. The movie goes beyond the story of the race to the adventure of these two characters. I was at Le Mans in 1966 as a spectator and I remember the start very well, especially the Ferraris because I was in front of their garage as a fan of the Scuderia."
