Lamborghini and Iron Lynx put the SC63 Hypercar through its paces

The Lamborghini SC63 destined for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans, the FIA WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has been put through its paces at Imola and Le Castellet.

Lamborghini and Iron Lynx recently tested the Lamborghini SC63 on track during a two-day session at Imola. Following an initial shakedown at Vallelunga in August the team’s engineers began calibration, with guidance from the FIA WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Between them, drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Daniil Kvyat clocked 1,500 km! They focused on developing the SC63 before the test sessions at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet – where the car sported its official livery – and Spa-Francorchamps.

Various engine, gearbox, speed limiter, traction control and brake calibrations were tested and the aerodynamics came under particular scrutiny.

Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Lamborghini SC63 Hypercar has a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine specially developed by the Italian carmaker. The car bears the trademark Lamborghini style, with the distinctive Y-shaped LED headlights.

The team is running two cars next season: a full FIA WEC campaign and a IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entry, both overseen by Iron Lynx.
