KK Performance: Honours for China and Asia

Thirty kilos of performance adjusting ballast did not prevent the Audi R8 LMS de KK Performance showing its competitiveness in the first major endurance race to be run in China.

At the finish of the Zhuhai 1000km, Team Performance KK brought home honours for China and Asia by winning the GTC class.

Thirty kilos of performance adjusting ballast did not prevent the Audi R8 LMS de KK Performance showing its competitiveness in the first major endurance race to be run in China. Marchy Lee, Alex Yoong and Matthew Marsh qualified in the top 3 of the GT categories. Only preceded by the Lamborghini Murciélago JLOC (GT1) and Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid (unclassified), they outstripped Ferrari and Porsche, in the battle for the title of the GT2 class!

Starting eleventh on the grid, the Audi R8 LMS #98 was at the heart of the race, before inheriting the lead of GTC after the retirement of the sister car of United Autosport. Lee, Yoong and Marsh took the chequered flag in 12th position overall. Their Audi ranked sixth in GT, behind Porsche, BMW and Ferrari. This result confirms the predictions of Stewart Tan, Director of the Zhuhai circuit on the development potential of endurance racing, not only in China but also beyond the borders of today's largest car market.
