Born out of Ferdinand Porsche's imagination even before World War II, the technical architecture (originally air-cooled rear engine) – not to mention its lines, of course – make up the 911's notoriety, more than half a century later. A member of Olaf Manthey's factory team in LM GTE Pro, Jörg Bergmeister will once again be a contender for victory.
Jörg Bergmeister (No. 91 Porsche 911 RSR, Porsche Team Manthey, LM GTE Pro): “The Porsche 911 is such an amazing concept and obviously the guys at Weissach do such a great job in developing this car. It is still competitive today and I am sure there are more victories to come! I have so many good memories with the 911 but the class win at Le Mans in 2004 was very special. I also had opportunities to drive a few classic cars from the Porsche Museum (but not as many as I wanted to!): the 911 GT1, the 350 Spyder… I would like to take the Carrera GT home just as a fun car and the 550 Spyder as a classic car. I did not drive Porsche prototypes at Le Mans but I have no regrets, I cannot fit in the car because I am too tall and there’s nothing I can do about it! But I am happy to be in the Porsche family and to have the chance to drive such great cars as the 911!”
