Intercontinental Le Mans Cup - Petit Le Mans

Jaguar return to competition in the GT class of the American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (pictured above), the marque which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, chose for the Petit Le Mans make its entry into ILMC.

“Petit Le Mans obviously holds significance for our program as it was where we debuted the Jaguar GT last year,” said Paul Gentilozzi, JaguarRSR Principal Partner. “In over a year’s time, we have made a lot of progress. Success at Petit Le Mans is important to us as it represents one of the toughest endurances tests in the United States. Having a second car there not only doubles our chances, but also allows us to expand our program in anticipation of the 2011 season.”

At Petit Le Mans, Gentilozzi teams up with Tomy Drissi will and Butch Leitzinger, one of America's most respected endurance drivers with 91 starts in ALMS, and also has three victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The second XKRS will be entrusted to Marc Goossens and Ryan Dalziel. Jaguar also announced two in Zhuhai, the third and final round of the first Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Now the property of the Indian industrialist Ratan Tata since March 2008, Jaguar has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans seven times in all, the last just twenty years ago, thanks to John Nielsen Price Cobb and Martin Brundle.
