IMSA - the Ford GT in capable hands (video)

When Ford announced its return to endurance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, Joey Hand had already signed with Chip Ganassi Racing who were fielding a Ford-powered Daytona Prototype in the United SportsCar Championship.

Hand left BMW at the end of the 2014 season, no doubt because Ford had its eye on him to pioneer the Ford GT campaign. The American driver has contributed to the car’s development pretty much right from the drawing board. It has to be said that Hand has the requisite experience for the role: he won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2011 as a rookie with Chip Ganassi Racing and took the American Le Mans Series GT driver’s title that same year.
