Only the competitors in the GTD class (GT Daytona) will compete in the entirety of the championship. The competitors entered in GTLM (GT Le Mans) will take part in 11 races, and those in the P class (Prototype) will be at the start of 10 and in PC eight.

The four classes will come together for the two races whose dates have been changed: the round at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin has been moved to the Spring, and the Laguna Seca round have been moved to the Fall.

Also, the two official test sessions of two days will take place at the Daytona circuit at the end of the season, first with all four classes in November, then without the PC class in December. All competitors will reunite at the beginning of January at the same circuit for the traditional Roar Before the Rolex 24, the official tests of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, before heading south to Sebring in February.
