Hertz Team JOTA has announced the driver set to share the #38 Porsche 963 with Oliver Rasmussen and Phil Hanson at the race next year, none other than 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button. The British driver will take part in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, and 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans on 12-16 June, in the Hypercar category.
Earlier this week, it was revealed Will Stevens, Norman Nato and Callum Ilott will join forces in the team's second Porsche.
In October, Button competed in the 26th running of Petit Le Mans at the wheel of JDC-Miller MotorSports' Porsche 963 (5th overall). He thoroughly enjoyed driving the German Hypercar. Jenson Button: "It was phenomenal. I loved every minute of it."
Hertz Team JOTA is determined to impress in the Hypercar category at next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their endurance racing experience – combined with the experience of Button, Stevens, Nato and the enthusiasm of young talents Hanson, Ilott and Rasmussen – makes them one of the teams to watch.
Button has participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice. First in 2018 driving SMP Racing's #11 BR Engineering BR1-AER (retirement). Secondly this year at the Centenary in Hendrick Motorsports' #24 Chevrole Camaro ZL1 in the Innovative Car category.
