Harry Tincknell: at 22 years of age, he is aiming for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Between single-seaters and prototypes, there is only one step that Harry Tincknell has decided to take this season. The young Brit will therefore participate in his first 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of the Jota Sport team's Zytek

Winner at the recent 4 Hours of Imola, along with Filipe Albuquerque and Simon Dolan, Harry Tincknell is already thought of as a favourite and a formidable opponent for the title in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). With an English apprenticeship, the Exeter native climbed the ranks of single-seaters by doing battle in the virulent lead packs of Formula Renault and Formula 3 in England. Then considered as one of the ten most promising drivers of his generation, Tincknell unfortunately suffered a serious accident at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in 2011, marking a setback in a career that was already well underway. After an operation on a debilitating right hand injury and subsquent recuperation, the British hopeful wasted no time in demonstrating his performance level by winning four races in the Brtish Formula 3 championship in 2012.

After a successful and very encouraging season in European F3 in 2013, punctuated by two podium finishes, two pole positions and one victory, this year Tincknell joined Simon Dolan's team for a complete endurance program. Convincing at Silverstone, second at Spa-Francorchamps in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) then winner at Imola, his debut at the wheel of an LM P2 has been remarkable. At Le Mans, a major challenge will nonetheless await Tincknell given the unique intensity of the Le Mans race. Night driving, adhesion changes, constant traffic, high speeds, the difficulties will not fail to call upon the British driver's skills whose ambition is in line with the highest step of the podium. An attainable goal even though the fight will be terrible in an LM P2 class more elevated than ever. With the Jota Sport team, a reliable and fast Zytek-Nissan and solid teammates (Simon Dolan and Marc Gene), all of Harry Tincknell's dreams are possible. Initial indications at the Test Day on June 1st during which he will have to familiarize himself with the particular layout of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit.
