Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrates 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary (slideshow)

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has prolonged the 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary celebrations. A host of breathtaking cars and talented drivers from the world’s greatest endurance race were at the prestigious event. Enjoy the slideshow below.

One month after Ferrari AF Corse’s memorable victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary, the Duke of Richmond welcomed drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado and the #51 Ferrari 499P to Goodwood. Miguel Molina, who drove the #50 sister car, was also present.
Still showing the scars of a gruelling 24 hours, the winning 499P was displayed alongside the 250 TR/58 and the 275P – models that won the French endurance classic in 1958 and 1964 respectively.

The Festival of Speed also paid tribute to Porsche in the marque’s 75th anniversary year. Goodwood’s famous Central Feature showed off emblematic Porsche cars including the 963 Hypercar that is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Meanwhile, nine-time Le Mans winner and Centenary Ambassador Tom Kristensen took the wheel of the Porsche 917 K that triumphed in 1970.
