The rain often disrupted the race on the circuit at the foot of Mount Fuji. After two red flags, the race was finally stopped at 08:42 (French time). Wurz, Nakajima and Lapierre in the Toyota TS030 Hybrid ahead of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish. This result allowed Audi to clinch the world title for manufacturers. The Lola-Toyota of Mathias Beche and Andrea Belicchi (Rebellion Racing) finished on the third step of the podium. In LM P2, Bertrand Baguette, Ricardo Gonzalez and Martin Plowman (OAK Racing Morgan-Nissan) recorded their second win of the season after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, from the Oreca-Nissan of Roman Rusinov, John Martin and Mike Conway (G -Drive Racing), who were victorious in Sao Paulo and at the Circuit of The Americas. With the win, the OAK Racing team takes again the lead in the team standings.
In LM GTE, the Aston Martin Vantage had two class wins, thanks to Frédéric Makowiecki, Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke (in LM GTE Pro) and Christoffer Nygaard, Kristian Poulsen and Bruno Senna (in LM GTE Am). Ferrari still lead the teams standings in LM GTE Pro and Aston Martin lead in LM GTE Am. The winners of the 6 Hours of Fuji in 2013 only completed in all sixteen laps. By the rules of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), competitors score half points when less than 75% of the total race distance has been covered. The seventh and penultimate round of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Shanghai will be held on Saturday, November 9th.
