Patrick Dempsey's happiness on the Le Mans podium was a joy to see: even though it wasn't the highly coveted win, an additional step was made to that end in the form of a second place finish. The result was attainable thanks to the support of Porsche who has helped the former Grey's Anatomy actor since his debut as a driver. Dempsey, after Hockenheim last year, will once again take the wheel at the Porsche Supercup at Spa August 21-23.
Dempsey is now familiar with the Spa-Francorchamps circuit after having competed in the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in which he finished in fifth place in the LM GTE Am class with Patrick Long, official Porsche driver, and Marco Seefried.
Though he will be alone taking the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Dempsey will have to share the crowd's attention with Sébastien Loeb, second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2006, returning himself to the Porsche Supercup after Monaco and Barcelona in 2013. Who will be the star in the Belgian Ardennes?
