Franck Montagny covered only six laps today. This does not prevent the driver of the Peugeot #8 from feeling ready to take the start of Imola 6 hours tomorrow morning.
After the failure at Le Mans, is the ILMC title your priority?
Franck Montagny: "Yes, however the objective here is not necessarily to win the race, but also to score big points by placing the two cars to the finish."
The Peugeot 908 has no special aerodynamic kit for Imola unlike the Audi R18. Is that detrimental?
"Developments are ready with us too, but we prefer to validate in tests before using them in the race. We will probably at Silverstone. We don't use special configuration, but the Peugeot 908 is both efficient and comfortable to drive on this track. We can tackle it at 99%! Obviously we're a little short of driving time on a dry track, but it's the same for everyone."
After the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Olivier Quesnel said he had to have a discussion with Nicolas Minassian. What is your opinion regarding the result of your teammate in La Sarthe?
"This discussion does not concern me. For me everything was fine at Le Mans and Nicolas remains my friend."
For you, are not you always frustrated to leave teammate Stephane Sarrazin to chase pole position?
"No, I do not think too much about ego in endurance. I run in qualifying, but we're here to win races, not poles."
You have no personal ambitions?
"With the announcement of the creation of the World Championship and the arrival of Porsche in LM P1, I do not want to look elsewhere! I am where I am and I dedicate myself 100% to endurance racing."
