In just 15 minutes on the 13.626-km Le Mans racetrack, a maximum of four laps is realistically all that a team can hope to complete. That’s enough, however, to ensure that the cars are running smoothly and make the final adjustments with a view to the race itself.
Although Race Control had declared a wet track just before the start of the session, the tarmac was in fact dry despite the occasional spot of rain that fell. Apart from a short stoppage for Cool Racing’s #37 Oreca 07-Gibson, the warm-up was concluded without incident. No point in taking risks at this late stage!
The #3 Cadillac V-Series.R was out on the track with the other 61 cars. The Cadillac Racing crew replaced the engine yesterday after the car caught fire during Hyperpole on Thursday evening due to a fuel feed line issue.
