European Le Mans Series Red Bull Ring – Qualifying

In the wake of its victory at the Imola round, then its success in the LM P2 class at Le Mans, the Zytek-Nissan of the British team Jota Sport secured the pole position of this third round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at the Austrian circuit Red Bull Ring.

With a performance in 1:23:78, the Brit Harry Tincknell will share the first row with the Oreca-Judd of Race Performance. Following will be the Ligier JS P2-Nissan of Thiriet by TDS Racing, the Morgan-Judd of NewBlood by Morand Racing, the Alpine A450 B-Nissan of Signatech Alpine and the two Zytek-Nissans of Greaves Motorsport. These seven LM P2 prototypes are within the same second, prelude to a great race battle where strategy will once again be of paramount importance.

As for GTs, there are three different marques in the top 3 of the LM GTE class, with the Ferrari 458 Italia of the Russian team SMP Racing, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Proton Competition and the Aston Martin Vantage V8 of Gulf Racing UK. A Ferrari, the 458 of Formula Racing, achieved the best performance in the GTC class ahead of the McLaren MP4 12C of the French team ART Grand Prix and the other Ferrari of AF Corse.

The start of the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring, third round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series, will be given on Sunday, July 20th at 2:00 p.m.
