Congratulations to Pierre Gasly on his first F1 Grand Prix win!

Pierre Gasly won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday at the circuit in Monza, Italy. The Automobile Club de l'Ouest congratulates the French driver who began his career in F4 at the Auto Sport Academy in Le Mans.

Pierre Gasly caused the French national anthem, La Marseillaise, to play for the first time in Formula 1 since Olivier Panis' 1996 win at Monaco. The French driver, who took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in June, won the Italian Grand Prix at the wheel of his AlphaTauri. Gasly, who for more than five years lived near the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit in the Technoparc, competed in his first races in F4 via the Auto Sport Academy. He returned to the circuit recently to support Telethon efforts and reunited with his old F4 in pit lane. The Automobile Club de l'Ouest congratulates Pierre Gasly for his first victory in Formula 1.
