Come and see the iconic cars on show at the “Americans at Le Mans” exhibition

“Americans at Le Mans” opens today in the race village. The magnificent exhibition puts the spotlight on American teams at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Walk in, and the first thing you see is a 1923 Ford T. The film-set atmosphere has superb lightning that leads visitors through the exhibition. With the Porsche 908 that raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and featured in Steve McQueen’s film Le Mans, the 1976 Spirit of Le Mans Corvette and the Porsche 935 raced at Le Mans in 1979 by actor Paul Newman you’ll be spoilt for choice! For fans of more recent GTs and prototypes there’s a 2000 Panoz LMP-1 Roadster-S, a 2001 Chrysler LMP, a 1998 Viper GTS-R and a Corvette C7-R (reserve car).

The stars of the show are in pride of place in the middle of the exhibition. The three Ford GT 40s that took a one-two-three sweep in 1966 are grouped together. “Americans at Le Mans” opens today and runs until Sunday 19 June.
