The world's greatest endurance race will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 10-11 June 2023. It’s set to be a very special event with a very special line-up.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest, founder and organiser of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has teamed up with the Monnaie de Paris to mark this momentous occasion in the history of motorsport. The Monnaie de Paris is France’s oldest institution and has created a one-off trophy that will be awarded to the winners of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The prestigious piece, which is made of bronze and stands more than one-and-a-half metres tall, will promote the iconic race by being displayed at locations around the world. The trophy will be exhibited at the most high-profile fixtures.
AUCTION AT THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS
Another major announcement at Monterey Car Week was a special auction to be held at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One-of-a-kind vehicles will be up for bids at the event organised in partnership with established auction house RM Sotheby’s. The first car confirmed for auction is the Lancia LC2 chassis 0005 which raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1984 and 1985.
