Cars derived from the GTs seen at Le Mans: Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition

Do Corvette's exploits at the 24 Hours of Le Mans excite you? There is a road version derived from the C7.R seen at the 24 Hours and in major endurance races, the Corvette C7 Z06. Presentation.

Z06 - A legendary letter, the Z comes from Zora Arkus-Duntov, the engineer often cited as the "father of the Corvette" since he worked on the first model, and two numbers, 06, which correspond to a code that designates the competition equipment mounted on the vintage Corvette. With the Z06 extension, the "normal" Corvettes became extraordinary. Since the C2 Z06, first in the line to use the name in the 1960s, to the recent C5 Z06 and C6 Z06, Chevrolet has sought to provide driver versions that carry the manfacturer into the world of competition.

The last-released, the C7 Z06, is no exception to the rule. Under the hood is an aluminium 6.2-liter, V8 engine with 659 hp. This Corvette standardized for the road is the closest to the C7.R that won in the LM GTE Pro class at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. The exterior design is fascinating. With the exception of the oversized rear spoiler and wider tracks, it must be said this Corvette is very similar to an endurance car. Three aerodynamic packs are offered. Though a series car, it includes a front air intake, a rear spoiler and a carbon fiber hood, the Z06 can be completed with a carbon fiber undercarriage and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes...you feel like Jan Magnussen or Tommy Milner at the wheel.

The car has a data recording system that can measure your performances (on a circuit obviously) to facilitate improvement. The gearbox is a jewel. A seven-speed manual, it can also be controlled via steering wheel paddles. The double clutch lets you accelerate, and accelerate. In the Z06, one goes from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds. Since we're talking numbers, the car will set you back at least 116,500€. The American dream.
